Am 29. August 2015 werden sich Heimatvertriebene und Flüchtlinge, Aussiedler und Spätaussiedler, Angehörige der Erlebnisgeneration, aber auch viele Vertreter der Bekenntnisgeneration erneut im Humboldt-Saal der Berliner Urania einfinden, um unter dem diesjährigen Leitwort „Vertreibungen sind Unrecht – gestern wie heute“ gemeinsam die Auftaktveranstaltung zum Tag der Heimat des Bundes der Vertriebenen zu begehen.
Die Festrede wird in diesem Jahr der Niedersächsische Ministerpräsident Stephan Weil MdL halten. Mit der Ehrenplakette des Bundes der Vertriebenen werden die Ministerpräsidenten Horst Seehofer MdL, Volker Bouffier MdL und Stanislaw Tillich MdL stellvertretend für ihre jeweiligen Bundesländer Bayern, Hessen und Sachsen ausgezeichnet. Noch vor der Bundesregierung haben sie mit ihren landeseigenen Gedenktagen dokumentiert, dass in ihren Ländern die Bewahrung und Aufarbeitung der Geschichte auch der deutschen Heimatvertriebenen und Flüchtlinge eine gesamtgesellschaftliche Aufgabe ist. Ministerpräsident Seehofer wird bei der Festveranstaltung anwesend sein, die Ehrenplakette auch im Namen der beiden anderen Geehrten annehmen und ein Dankeswort sprechen.
Nach seiner Amtsübernahme im vergangenen November wird BdV-Präsident Dr. Bernd Fabritius MdB nun zum ersten Mal beim zentralen Tag der Heimat zu den Anwesenden sprechen und diese wichtige Veranstaltungsreihe somit eröffnen. Für das Geistliche Wort und Gedenken zeichnet der Beauftragte des Rates der Evangelischen Kirche in Deutschland (EKD) für Fragen der Spätaussiedler und der Heimatvertriebenen, Kirchenpräsident i.R. Helge Klassohn, verantwortlich. Musikalisch umrahmt wird die Veranstaltung von den Potsdamer Turmbläsern.
